Rates For Second Author Title

Preferential rates are available for publishing a second title with The London Press. Please contact us for details.

1Author net royalty refers to the net amount calculated using the publishers own royalty formula which uses the publishers website published unit print prices for books (of specific trim size & page counts as well as publisher set foreign exchange rates for sales made in overseas territories). The amount calculated by the publishers net royalty formula is the amount paid to authors per book sale & is final & non-negotiable. Further, if an authors work has been published via the Publishers 'up to' 100% Freedom publishing package (up to 100% calculated as per publishers royalty calculation formula detailed in the publishing contract for any given applicable month) if the net calculated royalties of a book (that is due to be paid for a particular month) exceeds the figure of 200.01 UK pounds for that particular month, then the Publisher will levy a charge of 10% on the due amount and deduct it from the royalty figure for that particular month. In essence, this means that under specific conditions, Authors can receive a maximum of up to 2400 UK pounds per year at the full royalty rate of 100 percent (calculated as per publishers royalty calculation formula detailed in publishing contract). This would only happen if an author was due to receive 200 pounds for a title (combined for all territories, after currency conversion/s) for each of the twelve months of a year. If for instance an author was due to receive 11 x 200 pounds and one month at 500 pounds, then they would receive the 11 months at 100 percent (i.e. the full 200 pounds) and for the twelve month they would receive 450 pounds (i.e. 10 percent would be levied on the single months 500 pounds, because of it being over the 200 pound threshold). Thus in this instance, an author would receive a max of 2200 pounds in a year at 100 percent royalty rate (up to 100% calculated as per publishers royalty calculation formula detailed in the publishing contract). Each separate title (and a title generally includes it's hard and soft cover versions with different ISBNs across all sales territories - but not its ebook version) has it's own breakpoint 'allowance'. Thus if an author has two separate books/titles each of which have due royalties of 200 pounds for a month, then they will receive 400 pounds in total. However, if royalties due for each title are 400 pounds, then they will receive 720 pounds for that month, as 40 pounds will be levied on each titles royalties. The next month will be treated independently, with no carry over from the previous month. Full details of the publishers royalty formula are available on request. Links to various calculators and spreadsheets that will help you understand how author net royalties are calculated and are listed in your author control panel. In general (unless otherwise arranged), royalties that are paid by PayPal under all publishing packages except the Freedom Publishing Package do not incur admin or handling fees (charged by ourrselves) though they do have fees charged to us by Paypal® for transferring them to you deducted (for instance masspay, standard payment and/or cross border fees). Full details can be found in your author terms and conditions. PLEASE NOTE: The headline net calculated royalty rates refer to printed books only, they do not refer to royalty rates for ebooks - which are set differently.

2 The drop ship percentage is the rate an author pays above the Publishers published unit print cost for any particular trim size and page count. Drop ship orders are liable for shipping & handling/admin fees. Different handling fees apply if the gross order value is above 500 UK pounds as there are costs & other factors involved for the company with larger order amounts). Please see author's terms and & conditions for full details. Each package has two dropship rates, depending on the quantity of books being ordered & shipped to a single address. The rate being advertised may well be the lower rate available on a package, & dependant on a specific quantity being ordered.

3Any cover submitted (either by a professional or an author) must comply with Gigalillion cover file specs for it to be printed. Our cover file specs document is in the authors resource area.

4Extras for any particular publishing package are available any time at the price listed at the time of ordering. After you have begun the process of setting up your book, please contact us about ordering any extras you require.

5This upgrade percentage refers to the percentage payable of the published package price (of the target package) advertised on this site at the time an author wishes to upgrade, and not a percentage of the package price that was published at the time authors original (and first) publishing package was taken out.

*Subject to terms & conditions. PayPal® charged fees will be deducted if the method of payment is PayPal® or bank charges plus admin fee deducted if bank account payment made. Further, if the Authors work has been published via the Publishers 100% package (100% calculated as per publishers royalty calculation formula detailed in the publishing contract) if the net calculated royalties of a book (that is due to be paid for a particular month) exceeds the figure of 250 UK pounds for that particular month, then the Publisher will levy a charge of 10% on the due amount and deduct it from the royalty figure. In essence, this means that Authors can receive a maximum of 3000 UK pounds per year at the full royalty rate of 100 percent (calculated as per publishers royalty calculation formula detailed in publishing contract).

+Correctly printed technical proof counts as one of the complementary copies provided as part of any publishing package.

6Printed book sales have a different net calculated royalty rate set to ebooks.

7Ebooks carry a different net calculated royalty rate than printed book sales. Please contact us for details.

8Ebooks are PDF based and are not directly Kindle® compatible. Our PDF ebook system makes ebooks available in many parts of the world (often in local/relevant currency). Downloads are secure &am; ebooks will work directly on many tablets & hand-held devices. We do not reformat books for ebook publishing, rather we publish an identical version of the printed book electronically.

9A single copy of the work will be provided to the British Library, after publishing, as a default. A copy of the work will only be provided to the following legal libraries, if they request one from the publisher: The Bodleian Library at the University of Oxford, Cambridge University Library, the National Library of Scotland, the Library of Trinity College, Dublin and the National Library of Wales.

Unit price is a trim and page count derived amount (based on the publisher's currently in force fee schedule) that is used in the formulas utilised by the publisher for calculating the price an author will be charged per book, for drop shipments and/or the book unit price used by the publisher for working out royalties due to author for sales of their book. The unit price shown on this page is not a figure authors will be able to purchase books at, as it will have a percentage added to it dependant on the package an author publishes under and the associated terms and conditions of that package (including additional fees such as shipping and handling). Further, due to market fluctuations, the unit price for any particular trim size and page count shown on this page (along with other subsequently derived figures such as royalties due) may not be the currently updated price that will be charged (or paid out for sales) by the publisher, and therefore any figures shown on this page should be considered estimates only. The publisher is entitled to change the unit price charged to authors at any time or reason.

NOTE: With regard to the Freedom Package detailed above: Unless otherwise agreed in writing, a condition of offer of this package is that an authors manuscript (work) must be laid out/typeset using our typesetting service - quotations available upon request. Our typesetting service includes the preparation of all files required for printing to relevant specifications. It is not possible for an author to take out the Freedom package without also utilising our typesetting/file preparation services.
